No trees, generous fairways, and enormous greens at this course

For the Cape Fear National Golf Course, Cate incorporates a number of water features including numerous ponds and three waterfalls. The front nine also incorporate expanses of wetlands into a layout that rolls through cypress, magnolias, oaks and maples. An additional nine holes for a total of 27 holes are planned.

Reflecting Cate’s Scottish sensitivities is a massive berm covered in heather that’s a prominent feature on the back nine. With no trees in the way on the course, there is ample sand and water. And while most of the course’s hazards are faced from the tee, generous fairways make avoiding them relatively easy. Golfers at Caledonia will also quickly get accustomed to carries over waste bunkers, marsh and water, although enormous greens makes them hard to miss.

For dining or relaxing before or after a round, the course features a large clubhouse with full service pro shop, the 19th Hole Grille, restaurant and other amenities. A practice area with driving range, putting green
