[formidable id=8]Noted golf course architects Willard Byrd and Clyde Johnson designed this 27-hole course in the seafood capital of the world, Calabash, NC. The Brunswick Plantation Golf Course is at the heart of the planned community whose name it bears, named one of America’s most distinguished planned communities.
With three nine-hole tracks, Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort was designed to take full advantage of the area’s natural features to offer a challenging round of golf to players of all skill levels. Undergoing an extensive renovation in 2006, a good course became a great course with new grass planted throughout, the course lengthened, trees strategically placed to better define fairways and hazards, repaving of the course’s cart paths and much more.
The three nine-hole courses each have their own unique qualities. The Dogwood nine features a wide-open layout that runs through hardwoods along the banks of Caw Caw Run with enough features to require every club in a player’s bag. The Magnolia Course calls to mind Scotland’s historic links with a number of water holes and heavily bunkered holes. And finally, the Azalea Course is elegantly cut from thick Carolina coastal forest and features the one of a kind par-3 No. 15 with an island green surrounded by oyster shells. This par-72 course measures 6,717 yards from its longest tees.
