Opened in 1998, the Carolina National Golf Club in Winding River Plantation is the first Carolina course designed by famed professional golfer Fred Couples, along with golf course architect Gene Bates.
The design of this 27-hole course takes not only golfing seriously but also its environment along the beautiful Lockwood Folly River, being an Audubon certified bird sanctuary. The course’s commitment to the environment and its wildlife is evident in the names of its three nine-hole layouts – Ibis, Egret and Heron.
With three 18-hole combinations possible of about 7,000-yards each, there are five sets of tees to offer golfers of all skill levels a challenging round. There’s a 14,000-square foot putting and chipping green practice area as well as a driving range, restaurant and other amenities.

Decent but boring layout. Condition pretty good. Was going to buy clothing after my round but return bag guy was a nasty person. Decided not to go inside to buy golf shirts.
