About Meadowlands Golf Club (Myrtle Beach, SC)

Designed by noted golf course architect William Byrd, the Meadowlands Golf Course is a perfect choice for golfers of any skill level. Known for its well-maintained greens and fairways as well as its hospitable staff, the course has five sets of tees making it a place where the whole family can play.

Special instruction programs are also offered to junior golfers and women and it’s been ranked among the Top 100 courses for women by Golf For Women magazine. Likewise, it’s a favorite course among seniors as well.

While its sister course about a mile away, Farmstead Golf Links, tends toward an open links-style, Meadowlands is better described as parkland, although it also has plenty of open areas from which it gets its name. With manageable tree-lined fairways, most of the course’s challenges come in the form of trees, water and bunkers. Measuring 7,054 yards from the back tees, the course features excellent Bentgrass greens, some with a tricky degree of slope. There are also some water carries, particularly on the par 3s. Additionally, the course features a collection of par-4 dogleg holes that are moderately challenging and yield their share of birdies as well as several reachable par-5s.

Too many tee times, tee sheet packed and play was slow from the start. Will likely not return for this reason. Very good golfers can’t be waiting every tee box with 5 hour rounds. French fries were terrible.
