About Arcadian Shores Golf Club (Myrtle Beach, SC)

Designed by famed golf course architect Rees Jones, Arcadian Shores Golf Course has been one of the area’s finest since opening in 1974. And it bears the distinction of being the first course Jones designed to kick off his illustrious career.

Measuring 6,857 yards from its championship tees, the course is a good fit for players of all skill levels. A local favorite, two of its holes – the par-3 No. 2 and the par-4 No. 13 – are rated by readers of the Myrtle Beach Sun News as two of the best holes along the Grand Strand.

A public course, Arcadian Shores Golf Club is known for the lakes, both natural and manmade, scattered across it, including 10 acres of freshwater lakes bordering fairways. In addition, 64 sand bunkers are placed strategically to guard Sunday Ultradwarf Bermuda greens. Elevated greens and an at times a stiff ocean breeze, particularly on the back nine, add to that challenge.

Golfers can take advantage of the course’s excellent practice facility and golf instruction is also available, including access to the Hilton Golf Academy.

Did enjoy this course. They were still doing renovation to the clubhouse so had to check in at the conference centre. Assuming the proshop has a patio for after golf beer I'd go back. Course condition were ok and staff were very friendly.

This comment pertains to all the above courses: You could not "roll" the ball into the cup - you had to "ram" the ball into the cup. The ball would approach the hole and then in the last 3 inches, would simply roll away. It was as if all these courses had the "Public Hole Ring" around the cup. As the greens are fast, a missed "ram" putt meant a long putt back. This was not an individual golfer problem as all our golfers experienced this on each course.
