About Heritage Golf Club (Pawleys Island, SC)

Built on not one, but two, historic plantations along the beautiful Waccamaw River, the Heritage Club elegantly pays tribute to its storied past from the two-story plantation-style clubhouse to the countless live oaks draped in Spanish moss that seem to be everywhere.

At 7,000 yards plus from the back tees, this par-71 course starts off by giving golfers a break with the par-4 1st hole. But it’s not much of a break, with par-5 No. 2 offering two fairways, one long and safe and the other short and potentially wet with a water carry. For many, the most beautiful hole on the course, the par-4 No. 4 requires more than a bit of accuracy to get it on the green crowded by live oaks. Beginning and ending with a par-5, the back nine starts with a 606-yarder dotted with water features and having only the hint of a landing area among the marsh and bunkers.

With lots of water and crowned and sloping greens, the course is one for any player to sharpen their skills. And it’s a stunningly beautiful course teeming with wildlife, including the occasional alligator.

Shockingly bad conditions. I've played here 2x before and thought was 1 of the nicest courses I'd ever been on so to see in this state is really sad.
