  • One quote per golfer for the golf, the beds, carts and taxes
  • $100 deposit per golfer, balance due 30 days before arrival

What is included

How the Barefoot package is built

Barefoot Resort is the one place on the Strand where a group can play four courses of this standard without moving the cars. Book all four on the same trip and the resort gives up one of the green fees.

  1. Sunrise over the lakes and fairways of the Love Course at Barefoot Resort
    01

    Play all four courses

The Dye, the Love, the Fazio and the Norman, one round on each. Book all four and the fourth round is free, so the package prices out as three green fees rather than four. Fewer than four rounds is still a Barefoot package, just without the free one.

  2. Barefoot condos looking across a green on the course
    02

    Sleep in the Barefoot condos

The package puts the group in condos inside Barefoot Resort, in neighbourhoods that look onto the fairways and share the pools, the marina and the shuttle to the beach cabana. Full kitchens and separate bedrooms, so a foursome or three can spread out without paying for a hotel room each.

  3. The Barefoot Resort clubhouse across the water from a finishing green
    03

    See one price per golfer

The number depends on the season, the beds and how many are in the group, so there is no single sticker price. Send the dates and a head count and the quote comes back with all four rounds, the free one already taken off, the lodging, carts and taxes on it.

Pricing

What you pay and when

Three rounds, four courses

The free round is built into the quote, not handed back at the counter. What you see on the price is what you pay.

$100 holds it

A $100 deposit per golfer confirms the whole package, and each golfer can pay their own share.

Balance 30 days out

Book more than a month ahead and the rest is not due until 30 days before you arrive.

Tee times on all four courses come off the same tee sheet, so a planner can space the rounds across your stay and keep the morning slots together for the whole group. Ask about maintenance dates when you book, as the Barefoot courses aerate their greens in summer like the rest of the Strand.

The golf

The four courses

All four opened in 2000 and share the 35,000 square foot Barefoot clubhouse and the lit practice range. They are not four versions of the same course. Ratings are from golfers who played and reviewed them.

Dye Course

The hardest of the four and the one most groups build the trip around. Long, heavily bunkered, and semi private, with a slope of 149 from the back. Play it early in the week while everyone is fresh, and move up a set of tees if the handicaps run high.

Love Course

Wide fairways off elevated tees, then small, well guarded greens that ask for sharp irons. The most consistently praised of the four for conditioning, and a good morning round because pace can slow later in the day.

Fazio Course

A par 71 with water on fifteen holes and deep, soft bunkers that decide a lot of scores. It does not return to the clubhouse at the turn, so pack what you need for eighteen. Best in the middle of the trip once swings have loosened up.

Norman Course

Seven holes along the Intracoastal Waterway and the most open of the four, with the fullest practice area. Wind is the defence. Reviews swing more with conditioning here than at the other three, so ask for a recent report before you pick the day.

Where you sleep

Lodging on the package

The package sleeps in the Barefoot condos, and they are the reason most groups pick it: fairway views, more than a dozen pools, two clubhouses, and no drive to the golf. Give the planner a budget and a head count and they pick the neighbourhood inside the resort that fits.
