Why this one
The most golf in the least driving
Brunswick County is where the Grand Strand runs out of crowds. Sixteen courses sit a short drive from each other along a quieter stretch of Highway 17, and the villas at Sea Trail put three of them outside the door. A group that wants a different course every morning without an hour in the car each way gets that here.
- 01
Sixteen courses, one short drive
Three at Sea Trail, four Big Cats at Ocean Ridge Plantation, Oyster Bay and Thistle at Sunset Beach, Meadowlands, Crow Creek and The Pearl at Calabash, Rivers Edge at Shallotte, Sandpiper Bay, Lockwood Folly and The Links at Brick Landing. Marsh courses, heathland and tree lined classics in the same week.
- 02
Villas with three courses at the door
Sea Trail is a 2,600 acre resort at Sunset Beach with the Jones, Byrd and Maples courses on the property. One to four bedroom villas with full kitchens and screened porches, indoor and outdoor pools at the activity center, and the beach a mile down the road.
- 03
One price, cheaper by the round
Play two or more of the trail courses and the rate per round comes down. Send the dates and a head count and the quote comes back as one number per golfer: the rounds, the villa, the tee times and the taxes. Nothing waiting for you at the counter and no platform fees.
The courses
Sixteen courses. Start with these six.
Marsh, heathland, island greens and the toughest slope on the coast, all within half an hour of the villas. Six to build the trip around, ten more below. Ratings are from golfers who played them.

The Links at Brick Landing
Ocean Isle Beach · on the trail, ask the planner for it by name
Any mix counts. Three rounds on the resort is a Brunswick package, and so is a long weekend with the Big Cats. The planner spaces the rounds across your stay and keeps the group's tee times together.
Where you sleep
Villas in the middle of three courses
The package is built around the villas at Sea Trail, a 2,600 acre resort at Sunset Beach with the Jones, Byrd and Maples courses on the property. One to four bedroom villas with full kitchens, screened porches and golf course views, spread across six communities from Champions beside the Maples course to the townhouse style villas at Saw Mill. The Village Activity Center has indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub and a fitness center, and the beach is a mile away.
Sunset Beach is the small island town at the south end of Brunswick County, with Calabash and its seafood restaurants five minutes away. If the group would rather sleep somewhere else, ask and the planner will quote the same golf around it.
Pricing
What you pay and when
One quote for the trip
Rounds, villa, tee times and taxes on a single price per golfer. Nothing is added at the counter and there are no platform fees.
$100 holds it
A $100 deposit per golfer confirms the whole package, and each golfer can pay their own share.
Balance 30 days out
Book more than a month ahead and the rest is not due until 30 days before you arrive.
Three ways to play it
Most booked
Two courses or more
Play two or more of the trail courses on the same trip and the rate per round comes down. The more of the sixteen you put on the list, the better the number per golfer.
Late start
Hangover package
Six of the trail courses offer special rates on tee times at one in the afternoon or later. A slow morning on the porch and a cheaper round after lunch.
Most golf
Replay package
Go back out after the round. Replay nine or eighteen holes along the trail, subject to availability, for the group that wants golf, golf and more golf. The planner builds it around your dates.
The number depends on the season, the courses, the villa and how many are in the group, so there is no single sticker price. Send the dates and a head count and the quote comes back with everything on it, including which of the six courses the afternoon rate applies to on your dates. Other lengths of stay are quoted the same way.
Pick the week. We will hold the tee times.
Call (888) 796-4652 with rough dates and a head count, or build it online and a planner confirms every tee time before anything is charged.
