Why this one
The trip where the meals and the range are already in
Legends is the one resort on the Strand that puts the beds, the clubhouse and three courses inside the same gate, and its stay and play deal folds the food in too. A group that wants to walk to breakfast, walk to the first tee and hit balls under the lights after dinner gets all of that without a car key.
- 01
Three very different courses, one parking lot
Heathland is open and windswept, Parkland is tree lined and tight, Moorland is a P.B. Dye test with bulkheads and waste areas. Three days of golf and the cart is the only thing you drive. Heritage Club and Oyster Bay are the away days when the group wants a change of scenery.
- 02
Breakfast, lunch and two drinks every golf day
A full breakfast buffet before the round and any lunch entree after it at the clubhouse on each day you play, plus two draft beers or sodas per round. Carts are in, range balls are unlimited on the lighted thirty acre practice ground, and the resort pro shops take twenty percent off during your stay.
- 03
One price, no surprises
Send the dates and a head count and the quote comes back as one number per golfer: the rounds, the villa, the meals, the carts and the taxes. Nothing waiting for you at the counter and no platform fees.
The golf
Your week, one course at a time
Three of the five sit on the resort and two are a drive down the coast, so most groups play the home courses first and save the away days for the end. Here is the order that works, and why. Ratings are from golfers who played and reviewed them.
-
Day one
Legends Golf Resort - Heathland Course
Tom Doak · par 71, 6,853 yards, slope 131 · 3.9 from 18 reviews
Tom Doak's take on the links of the British Isles: no trees, wide fairways, deep bunkers and wind. The huge greens reward a good putter. The round to loosen up on, with the range next door.
-
Day two
Legends Golf Resort - Parkland Course
Larry Young · par 72, 6,799 yards, slope 136 · 3.9 from 8 reviews
The tree lined one, built in the style of the old parkland courses. Tiered greens, deep bunkers and water on the long par fives. Accuracy matters more than length here.
-
Day three
Legends Golf Resort - Moorland Course
P.B. Dye · par 72, 6,737 yards, slope 140 · 3.1 from 12 reviews
The P.B. Dye course and the hardest of the three on the property. Bulkheads, waste areas, big mounds and the bunker at the 16th that gives the hole its name. Save it for when the group is playing well.
-
Day four
Heritage Golf Club
Dan Maples · par 71, 6,960 yards, slope 145 · 3.4 from 12 reviews
The away day on the South Strand. Dan Maples laid it out over two old rice plantations by the Waccamaw River, under live oaks and Spanish moss. The slope says it is the toughest on the package.
-
Day five
Oyster Bay Golf Links
Dan Maples · par 71, 6,685 yards, slope 136 · 3.7 from 15 reviews
The other away day, just over the state line at Sunset Beach. Marsh, lakes, two island greens and oyster shells in the bunker faces. The prettiest round of the five and a gentle way to finish.
You do not have to play all five. Three rounds on the resort is a Legends package, and so is four nights with a day at Oyster Bay. The planner spaces the rounds across your stay and keeps the morning slots together for the whole group. Heritage Club is on the South Strand and Oyster Bay is over the North Carolina line, so allow a proper drive for those two mornings.
Where you sleep
Villas beside the first tee
The package is built around the villas on the resort. Two and three bedroom units with full kitchens, washers and dryers and free internet, a short walk or cart ride from the clubhouse, the lighted range and the acre of putting green behind it. There is an outdoor pool and hot tub for the afternoon and the Ailsa Pub, a Golf Digest pick for the best nineteenth holes in the country, for the evening.
The beach is about seven miles down Highway 501, with Broadway at the Beach and the restaurants on the way. If the group would rather sleep on the ocean, we can build the same golf around an oceanfront hotel instead, though the meals then only come with the rounds on the resort.

What you pay and when
One quote for the trip
Rounds, villa, meals, carts and taxes on a single price per golfer. Nothing is added at the counter and there are no platform fees.
$100 holds it
A $100 deposit per golfer confirms the whole package, and each golfer can pay their own share.
Balance 30 days out
Book more than a month ahead and the rest is not due until 30 days before you arrive.
Two ways to play it
Most booked
Four nights, four rounds
Four nights in the villas and four rounds of golf, with the fourth round free. Build the four from Heathland, Moorland, Parkland, Heritage Club and Oyster Bay.
Most golf
Five nights, five rounds
Five nights and all five courses, with the fifth round free. The full Legends week for a group that wants every course once.
Both come with the breakfast buffet and lunch on every golf day, two drinks per round, carts, unlimited range balls and the pro shop discount. The number depends on the season, the villa and how many are in the group, so there is no single sticker price. Send the dates and a head count and the quote comes back with everything on it. Other lengths of stay are quoted the same way.
Pick the week. We will hold the tee times.
Call (888) 796-4652 with rough dates and a head count, or build it online and a planner confirms every tee time before anything is charged.
