About Sea Trail Golf Club - Jones Course (Sunset Beach, NC)

Named after its designer, acclaimed golf course architect Rees Jones (son of legendary Robert Trent Jones), the Sea Trail Jones Golf Course was the second of Sea Trail Resorts’ trio of great golf courses, opening in 1990 and measuring 6,761 yards from the back tees.

A more traditional and straightforward course than its two sister courses, it features wide fairways, plenty of waste and pot bunkers, mounding, and greens that are large and elevated. Usually regarded as the most difficult of the three, the course is as beautiful as it is challenging.

It’s also a course that women golfers like with the ladies tees playing a tad under 5,000 yards. Amenities include a driving range, putting green, pro shop and restaurant.

Did enjoy this course. They were still doing renovation to the clubhouse so had to check in at the conference centre. Assuming the proshop has a patio for after golf beer I'd go back. Course condition were ok and staff were very friendly.

Very poor greens. Condition, of course was subpar. Disappointed to have members of our group drive all the way from Maryland to play on a dirt filled course and disease riddled green.

Hi Jim, I saw your review of The Jones Course that it was not in great shape. I am only hearing about this myself. The Jones Course which used to be the star at Sea Trail and my favorite....I am set to play it on Sunday to see for myself I was also surprised at your comments about Rivers Edge which is never a problem condition-wise. In looking at some reviews from other folks recently there was no mention of anything bad.  I am glad you all still had fun Stay in touch about your next package....we are already booking next Fall 2025 at a good pace.  - Admin
