Barefoot Resort & Golf - Dye Course

About Barefoot Resort & Golf - Dye Course (North Myrtle Beach, SC)
The famous Pete Dye course is probably one of the most popular golf courses in North Myrtle Beach. Both challenging and fun, with GPS on the carts.
The handiwork of world-renowned golf course architect Pete Dye, the Barefoot Dye Golf Course that bears his name is one of the crown jewels of courses along the Grand Strand. Opened in 1996, the course incorporates many of the design features for which Dye courses are well known with fairways featuring ample mounding and bunkering.
A par 72 measuring 7,343 from the tournament tees, the course is as beautiful as it is challenging to play. And of Barefoot Resort’s four courses – Fazio, Norman, and Love being the other three – it’s generally considered the most difficult.
A semi-private course running through native vegetation and the exclusive Dye Estates residential community, the course starts out with a relatively easy first four holes. But then there’s the monstrous 581-yard par-5 No. 5 and the challenge is on. And while the front nine is longer, the back nine is even more challenging with holes that demand accurate shots.
The course has won a host of honors including being named one of the best courses in South Carolina, one of Golf Digest’s 100 best public courses in the United States, and one of the magazine’s top courses in Myrtle Beach as well.
